Very expected game when 17th ranked DutchFeyenoord (9-27) was smashed by ninth ranked Belgian Belfius Mons-Hainaut (20-16) in Jemappes 96-71 on Saturday. Union Mons looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Feyenoord 's players. Icelandic swingman Styrmir Thrastarson (200-2001, college: Davidson, agency: Blacktop Management) notched 20 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and Leander Dedroog (199-1999) supported him with 18 points. Belfius Mons-Hainaut's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds by Ivorian-Dutch center Mathias Van Den Beemt (214-2001) did not help to save the game for Feyenoord . Swiss-French Yoan Granvorka (201-1997) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Four Feyenoord players scored in double figures. Union Mons maintains ninth position with 20-16 record, which they share with Leeuwarden. Loser Feyenoord keeps the seventeenth place with 27 games lost.
